Child abuses in the Hare Krishna movement: who is in control?

To say, like Dhira Govinda does, that Krishna or Prabhupada are in control of this movement, is beyond my realization!

All responsable devotees, in power or dedicated to Srila Prabhupada's mission, knew that crimes were going on in Mayapur, Vrindavan, New Vrindavan, ect. It was no secret. You know that when one fruit in the basket is rotten, soon all of them will get destroyed if nothing is done, or too little. That was the case, and still is.

Ex Director of the Association for the Protection of Vaisnava Children, Dhira Govinda* writes: "To not operate from a position of integrity in the Vaishnava culture is to deny the supremacy of Krishna. It’s to deny that Krishna is the supreme controller. It’s to say that our own adjustments, our own judgement, our own control mechanisms, our own political considerations take precedent over surrendering and having faith that Krishna is in control of this movement and that things will be okay."

It is an idealistic statement, propounded by sannyasis like mentality, which considers two radicalized positions only, nothing in between. In fact, right judgement, right adjustments, right control mechanisms, right political adjustments, are not in competition with Krishna's absolute dominance. They work together. Just like Arjuna was using his own force and intelligence on the battlefield, although Krishna was the Controller.

Who will protect most efficiently the children, the guru or the parents? Our philosophy teaches us that we are simply dust in the wind, we must abandon all kinds of independence and hope the best for our lives and those of the children. Devotees must have faith in authority and the institution if they want to progress spiritually and return to Krishna-loka.

Like the Wikipedia syndrome, it is voluntary bias or false, but remains a useful encyclopedia.

I asked the question to Dhira Govinda on Facebook when he made that statement about Krishna and Guru being in charge of the movement and our destiny, but I received no answer from his part. Neither was any curiosity or interest from devotees on the forum, the Vedic Inquirer. I may be wrong or right in my judgment, but looking for serious clarification on existential matters is not to be found by associating with the devotees, not even virtually, alas!

"I firmly believed that Krishna is in control and nothing moves -not even a blade of grass- without his ultimate whim. And that he protects his sincere devotees, what to speak of their children."

But my belief did not match the reality in a long term. Logically, beautiful Krishna doesn't allow such gross crimes in masses, especially in a community founded by his pure and exceptional servant, Srila Prabhupada. (What about the Kurukṣetra battle? Millions died while Krishna was in control...)

Vedic Inquirer was created three years ago by competent and courageous devotees. Their mission was to clean ISKCON from the numerous pedophiles who swarm its core like the tapeworm, this long parasite which lives sometimes in the belly of unfortunate fellows. Its head, equipped with suction cups and hooks, sucks all the food and vital energy. Then you become sick and weak.

The example is not the best analogy. You can get rid of a tapeworm, but these pedophiles are much more intelligent; they gaslight the whole society using Prabhupada's belly. Temples' presidents, sannyasis, gurus, devotees, all are gaslighted by these pedophiles.

Balthus and the Hare Krishna pedophiles

Nothing different from the many civilian societies where the same vicious tendency is rampant. Prestigious writers and politicians have praised pedophilia without being hampered by public opinion or consequences which could have severely punished them; just two names will suffice: Andre Gide who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1947 and the famous painter Balthus (1908-2001) who is praised in museums for his perverse art with little girls.**

He has conducted self-realization and personal transformation seminars in more than a dozen countries, and has practiced and taught bhakti-yoga under the guidance of Srila Prabhupada for more than 30 years.

** But recently posts have started to appear quoting Nietzsche, Voltaire and other atheists credited with destroying the family tradition.

Vaishnava philosophy teaches us that we are simply dust in the wind, that we must abandon all kinds of independence and hope the best for our lives and those of the children. Devotees must place their faith in the authority and the institution if they want to progress spiritually and return to Krishna-loka.

In retrospect, they call some of Prabhupada's early followers "infiltrators", given their suspicious and criminal acts, i.e. Bhagavan, Kirtananda or Bhavananda, just to name some of them. When I first heard this on Vedic Inquirer, I tried to figure out what they meant by this word, infiltrator, but no one care to give me an answer. I quickly concluded that the designation was inappropriate and led to avoid resolving the problem; the evil coming from within the movement, a consequence of the structural weakness of the organization and internal politics. Deep problems, in fact.
