With Confucius -words must keep their meaning

Confucius said, "We must correct the denominations." He meant that a king should be a king, a father should be a father, and a son should be a son. Words have meanings, and they should be respected.

These ideas seem obvious, but as we have seen –this is my pet project– words and ideas can easily be twisted, abused, or invalidated. These manipulations and transformations then become part of the norms that culture and education have prepared in advance. Sometimes, these methods are called "inclusive" demagogy. Although they seem abusive and are often criticized, they are fully encouraged by official, political, and academic authorities.

As proof, I point to Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron.

There is a persistent rumor about the French President's wife being transgender. When I mention this to my Algerian and Muslim siblings, some respond with disarming indifference, saying that other people's private lives are none of their concern, and that people should be able to live as they please, as long as they respect the law. When you are the First Lady of France, ethical questions shouldn't arise, in principle.

In the case of Confucius, the king's son practiced incest with his mother. It seems that the king was "naked," but the people had to endure the fact that "the son was playing the role of the father."

Marcel Granet writes: "Confucian doctrine states that there is order in the State only if everything in the princely family is in accordance with order." Clearly, this was not the case.
