Are astrological services still relevant?

Many believe in a golden age of the past. Many also believe in a golden age yet to come.  It is not rare to find that among them, there are those who believe in both happenings.

Is there any benefit to see the future through the lens of astrology? What is the pertinence these days of reading destiny through the stars? The more time passes, the less we believe in it.

At the end of the 70s, being a brahmacari dreaming of marriage, like several of my godbrothers, and finding the situation difficult, the choice for finding a partner being limited, I let myself be tempted by a horoscope. With my parents' money, I used the service of a renowned astrologer in ISKCON, Patita Pavava Dasa. When I received it, it blew my mind. I had to go and double check it with another astrologer, Vishnurata, a Canadian devotee who lived in New Mayapura and was the head of the French BBT. First, he told me on the phone that this could not be so. Then, when I went to his home for getting back my chart and the tapes, on which was recorded Patita Pavava's analysis, he said, after all, that it sounded good... He even added or completed information.

In 84, I met Patita Pavana in LA. I was now married to a woman, still my wife today and whose personality corresponded to his prediction (needless to say my happiness.) As I had my chart with me, hoping to see him, he went rapidly through it. He did not revise his first conclusion, everything seemed right. We were out on the street, in front of the temple. 40 years later, I can figure out the efficiency of his work objectively; the reality doesn't match the chart.

I now answer my own question in the introduction to this reflection in the negative: don't plan your life on the basis of an astrological chart. The "science" which may have had meaning in the distant past, like in Antiquity or Medieval ages, no longer does today, and has not been such for a long time.

She is concerned by Israel horoscope, but what about a State for the Palestinians, is their a bright future for them?

On Mithuna Twiins Astrological Services, Abhaya Mudra Dasi published a resume of an astrological chart on Israel. I read it as a kind of Zionist's idolization, to put it a little bluntly. Just like America, after the colonization genocided the original residents; to transcend its demonic past, a New-Age vision was developed.

Abhaya Mudra Dasi, astrology on Israel. Chart.

I wrote a comment in which I despised Israel for a most brutal attack against civilians; bombing day after day a very condensed populated zone. In one month, they killed more civilians than Russia did during 18 months in Ukraine. I said, Israel will not recover from these monstrosities. The government could have chosen other ways, more diplomatic, instead they preferred to see Palestinians as savages or "animals". Aryans in Mahabharata never attacked civilians. Americans and the like do that."

The comment I posted. The administration decided not to publish it, lining for indefinite approval. Then, it was deleted.**

Contrary to what Israel claims, it occupies its territories at the expense of Palestinians’ legitimate rights to coexist with them. That was the original plan of the international communities. The chart presented by Abhaya Mudra did not reflect this aspect. Israel exists mainly because of the Americans' support. Rather than glorifying a wonderful Israeli entity, she could have pointed to the hope that the horrific abuses that have been going on against the Palestinians, since numerous decades, are coming to an end. The present behavior is unworthy of people who have suffered so much in their long history, particularly by the Nazis.

She concluded by a quote from Srila Prabhupada: "After the war preaching will be more easy". How is that? Because "People will be purged through such a conflict", she wrote. Where is the example? Purge means purified?

_______________

** The exact comment: Right now Israel is killing women, old people and children by hundreds every day. In one month, Israel had killed more people than Russia in Ukraine in 2 years. Nothing good can come for Israel from this disastrous and horrific way of waging a war. The Aryans in Mahabharata never attacked civilians. Americans and the like do that.

PS. At the end, I put her article and where it comes from.

Three days later.

Purge…* What she meant by that? Mudra used the word in her chart in regard to the war in Israel against the Gazaouis. As I was reading a philosopher writing about the function of the prophets, he pointed to a text in the Bible. Curious, I went to it and found the word purge.

— If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. That prophet or dreamer must be put to death for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you. (Dt 13. 1-4)

On many occasions I heard devotees expressing their enthusiasm for a world war. They harbored this prejudice that after the war the populations would be better disposed towards Krishna Consciousness or religion in general. I was wondering what factual experience they based their prejudices on. From what I have known and read, I have not found that people turned to religion or spirituality after wars.

We must put an end to this way of thinking which wants war to purge societies. Devotees should follow the example of Krishna who did everything possible to prevent the Kurukshetra war by using diplomacy instead. We must oppose those who advocate war and revenge as the only means of resolving injustices between nations. Escalation by the arms must be avoided at all costs.

To purge will not bring good fortune, as some may believe.

To purge. The battle of Kurukṣetra

"No more brahmanas, only people interested in making money", Prabhupada said. He also said, in another reference I made a few days ago, that America was becoming perfect, as that was the place he was making disciples, not in India. I guess that was his reasoning, because America has become more and more degraded since the time Prabhupada spoke these words. Just look at the state of San Francisco nowadays, to name one city.

Seeing everything through the lens of Krishna consciousness doesn't always bring good understanding. That is very hard to admit. It is better to take help from other qualified sources, materialistic it may be. Not long ago, one devotee, being upset with me, raised his concern in this way: "Who are you, to know better than Prabhupada?" He thinks that guru is omniscient, I suppose. Being a disciple of Prabhupada, I mean, being so long in the movement, he didn't not lose his innocence. He may not have read Prabhupada's exchange with his devotees, Hayagriva and Syamasundara, in Dialectic Spiritualism. Anyway, just repeating myself… Not all are brahmanas, not everyone thinks for themselves.

Arjuna was right, wars are followed by disaster. We observe it in Ukraine right now. All the men are diabolically sent to the battlefield. This will affect the country for generations. In France, the Napoleonic wars engulfed hundreds of thousands of men, and it never recovered from this disaster.* Now, the government uses immigration to keep its head above water.

* Austrian historian Gaston Bodart: 371,000 killed in action and 800,000 died of illness or cold, mainly during the disastrous Russian campaign. In total, more than 1,100,000 French soldiers died.

THE HOROSCOPE OF ISRAEL

Below is the chart for Israel. The time for founding the country is given at 4:00 PM on 14th May 1948.

Generally, this is a very good chart as it falls on Pushyami nakshatra, the star of nourishment. The day is Friday and the Moon is growing. The thiti of the Moon is сhashti, a day ruled by Venus. Friday is also ruled by Venus, and Venus it the chart is positioned in the 10th house in exchange of position with Mercury, who is found in the 9th house of spirituality.

Venus gives a very secure position. In the most visible position of the horoscope, a place, which guarantees that one is receiving love and adoration without much endeavor. That is considered very lucky, especially because Venus is the lord of spirituality for this horoscope. However, when Venus obtains the 9th house due to the exchange with Mercury, he comes there to his own house, with the Sun, the lord of the 12th house of loss. This shows division in faith. In Israel, this position shows that there are other people besides Jews and they have a different faith.

The horoscope is excellent with Jupiter in the 4th house in the sign of Sagittarius that he owns. That shows that gaining the land give the Jewish people much happiness. This position of Jupiter also gives longevity for the country. These are all positive things. However, Israel is in at the last days of its Mars period. Mars is a bully since he is positioned in the 12th house. He also gives sarala yoga and this means that he counts on its exclusivity to always be a winner.

Israel is coming to a very difficult Rahu period. Somewhere between the beginning of October and mid-December 2023, the country is entering into Rahu period. Rahu is not only in the side of death but he is ruled by Mars, who is positioned in the 12th house of loss. Saturn casts a debilitated glance over the sign of Aries where is Rahu’s position. And transiting Saturn is also casting a poisonous glance over Rahu. What will happen once Saturn comes to cross over Israel’s Rahu in his debilitated sign of Aries? Between June 3rd 2027 and April 30th 2030 Saturn will be going back and forth between Pisces, Aries and Taurus. Three times he will be coming to his debilitated sign of Aries. The slowest of planets will be moving very fast and that means very unstable situation in the sign of War. Well, yes, what is being stated now, will accelerate then, and Israel will no longer exist in the same status that it holds today. This small county will pull the whole world into a big mess. Rahu’s period lasts for 18 years and this problem will end in 2041. We have seen in other studies that this is the year when finally, the new Golden Age will show itself clearly. And that is exactly the time when Israel is entering into a very favorable Jupiter period. Israel will survive but not in the way it’s today political elite thinks. Israel is chosen to provoke the change of time. In this regard Shrila Prabhupada stated, “Preaching after the war will be very easy.” People will be purged though such a conflict and become more eligible to enter into the New Golden Age. Those countries that are able to change the consciousness of people on a mass scale will not participate in the conflict. They will not need it.
