The war in Ukraine is not an abstraction of the mind. It cannot be confined to our imagination and its rules, as with spiritual realization, which is a contract between guru and disciple, outside the conditions of this lower world. Indeed, one can be materially poor, but spiritually rich. 

The war in Ukraine reminds us that politics is inescapable and that it is in its essence a cosmogonic science which benefits the well-being of the independent individual and the people.

What lesson should we draw from the violent death of devotees in Ukraine? 

Despite the spreading of the chanting of the maha-mantra in the streets of the big cities and the holding of innumerable festivals which have purified the atmosphere and the consciences for decades in this part of the world, the war launched by the Russians is a fatricide and international catastrophe.

The Food for life center in Donbass was bombed and devotees died.

It is a hot potato for the Movement. It is all the hotter as the information is deliberately scrambled by Westerners and NATO who maintain a dubious and aggressive policy towards the Russians.

Since politics is not to the taste of the devotees of Krishna, because it does not enter their chords, as we have seen in the preceding reflections, since we are not this body, since we do not distinguish between Muslims and Hindus, women and men, blacks and whites, Ukrainians and Russians, we are in a dilemma similar to Aristotle's Gordian knot. That's the situation.

And if we try to pull the chestnuts out of the fire without the help of politics, the essential discipline of varnasrama-dharma, that is, if we do not take into account that the devotees of Ukraine and Russia, or from any other part of the world, are not avadhutta, that sankirtana and ecstatic festivals are not enough by themselves, this conflict will elude us in its all-out complexity and plunge the Movement into greater confusion.

Please feel free to share your thoughts through this varnashrama-dharma brainstorming. The situation being new and delicate, it is more than necessary to promptly apply the principles stated by Rupa Goswami in his Upadesamrita regarding the exchanges of love between devotees, his famous prīti-lakṣaṇam. By doing so, we will be more in phase to discern the healthy and necessary politics from the partisan, vulgar and basely polemical politics rejected by every man of God. Hare Krishna.

La guerre en Ukraine n'est pas une abstraction de l'esprit. On ne peut la contenir à notre imagination et à ses lois, comme c'est le cas pour la réalisation spirituelle, qui est un contrat entre le guru et le disciple, en marge des conditions de ce bas monde. Car on peut être pauvre matériellement, mais riche spirituellement. 

La guerre en Ukraine nous rappelle que la politique est incontournable et qu'elle est dans son essence une science cosmogonique qui profite au bien-être de l'individu et des peuples.

Quelle leçon doit-on tirer du violent décès des dévots en Ukraine?

Malgré la propagation du chant du maha-mantra dans les rues des grandes villes et la tenue d'innombrables festivals qui ont purifié l'atmosphère et les consciences durant des décennies dans cette partie du monde, la guerre lancée par les Russes est une catastrophe fratricide et internationale. Le centre de Food for life dans le Donbass a été bombardé et des dévots sont morts. Une patate chaude pour le Mouvement. Elle est d'autant plus chaude que l'information est volontairement brouillée par les Occidentaux et l'OTAN qui entretiennent une politique douteuse et agressive envers les Russes. Mais puisque la politique n'est pas du goût des dévots de Krishna, parce qu'elle n'entre pas dans leurs cordes, ainsi que nous l'avons vu dans les réflexions précédentes,* puisque n'étant pas ce corps nous ne distinguons pas entre musulmans et hindous, femmes et hommes, noirs et blancs, Ukrainians et Russes, nous sommes dans un dilemme pareil au nœud Gordien d'Aristote. Voilà la situation. Et si nous tentons de tirer les marrons du feu sans l'aide de la politique, discipline essentielle au varnasrama-dharma, c'est-à-dire si nous ne prenons pas en compte que les dévots d'Ukraine et de Russie, ou de n'importe quelle autre partie du monde, ne sont pas des avadhutta, que le sankirtana et les festivals extatiques ne suffisent pas par eux-mêmes, ce conflit nous échappera par sa complexité tous azimuts et plongera le Mouvement dans une plus grande confusion.

 S'il vous plaît, sentez-vous à l'aise de partager vos idées par ce brainstorming sur le varnashrama-dharma. La situation étant nouvelle et délicate, il est plus que nécessaire d'appliquer promptement les principes énoncés par Rupa Goswami dans son Upadesamrita, s'agissant des échanges d'amour entre dévots, son fameux prīti-lakṣaṇam. Ce faisant, nous serons plus en phase pour discerner la politique saine et nécessaire de la politique partisane, vulgaire et bassement polémique rejetée par tout homme de Dieu. Hare Krishna.
